The Correspondent - screenplay by Peter Duncan - out now to strong reviews

The new biographical thriller The Correspondent - adapted by our client Peter Duncan - releases today, telling the extraordinary true story of foreign correspondent Peter Greste. Directed by Kriv Stenders, The Correspondent stars Richard Roxburgh, Julian Maroun and Rahel Romahn and is based on Greste’s acclaimed 2017 memoir The First Casualty.

This legal thriller follows award-winning journalist Peter Greste, who accepts a last-minute assignment to cover a colleague’s post in Cairo during the Arab Spring. But what begins as a routine story quickly spirals into a harrowing ordeal, as Greste is wrongfully arrested and accused of terrorism. Caught in a deadly web of political rivalries and misinformation, he is imprisoned for seven years, forced to rely on his strength, resilience, and journalistic integrity to survive.

“An extraordinary film about human resilience and the importance of global diplomacy in the ongoing fight for press freedom... With a tight screenplay by Peter Duncan, the film is a masterclass in political subtlety.” The Conversation
