‘Closing Night’ Edited by Dany Cooper to Premiere at TIFF!
Australian-Canadian co-production, Closing Night, has announced it’s world premiere in the Special Presentations program at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. The feature marks the directorial debut of actor Cody Fern, and was cut by Dany Cooper.
Penned by Fern, and fellow actor Devon Bostick, the film centers on celebrated actress, Sandra Vale, whose life begins to unravel on the eve of her greatest performance. After 30 years apart, her sister April arrives in New York and their complicated dynamic quickly returns.
The cast includes Sarah Paulson as Sandra, Naomi Watts as April, as well as Dianne Wiest, Toby Wallace and Odessa A’zion in prominent roles.
Matilda Comers and Will Howarth of Fictious produced alongside Nancy Grant and Rosalie Chicoine Perreault. Screen Australia and Telefilm Canada supported the film through a co-production treaty, with post-production completed in NSW.
Closing Night will screen on September 12th & 13th, with more details here.
