Congratulations to our 2026 NSW Literary Award Nominees

We’d like to extend a huge congratulations to Peter Duncan and David Michôd for being shortlisted for the Betty Roland Prize for Scriptwriting at the 2026 NSW Literary Awards.

Peter Duncan is nominated for his screenplay The Correspondent. Based on Peter Greste’s memoir, the script tells the harrowing story of the Australian journalist’s arrest, trial, and imprisonment after becoming entangled in a deadly game of rivalries while reporting on the Arab Spring uprising.

David Michôd is nominated for Christy (co-written with Mirrah Foulkes). The film follows a small-town West Virginia woman who finds her calling as a trailblazing 1990s boxer under a volatile trainer-turned-husband, only to face a life-or-death battle outside the ring that forces her to fight for survival.

We would also like to congratulate Michelle Lim Davidson, who was Highly Commended in the Nick Enright Prize for Playwriting for her writing debut, Koreaboo.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 18 May.
