Peter Duncan


 Peter Duncan is a screenwriter and director. His first feature film, Children of the Revolution (starring Judy Davis, Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush and F Murray Abraham), was awarded 3 AFI awards (and nominated for 9), won Best Feature Film at the Australian International Film Festival and the Film Critics Award for Best Screenplay. Peter wrote, directed and co-produced A Little Bit of Soul, a comedy starring Geoffrey Rush and Frances O'Connor - which was nominated for 2 AFI Awards – and directed Passion (a film on the life of Percy Grainger which was nominated for 7 AFI Awards) starring Barbara Hershey, Richard Roxburgh, and Emily Woof. Peter wrote and directed Unfinished Sky – which received 10 AFI nominations (winning for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Sound, Best Original Music Score, Best Actor and Best Actress) and was nominated for 8 IF Awards (winning 3).

He is co-creator, writer, director and producer of the multi-award winning Rake, which is produced by Essential Media for the ABC. Peter recently wrote the US pilot spinoff of Rake for Sony Pictures Television and Fox, starring Greg Kinnear and directed by Sam Raimi, as well as being a series writer, creative consultant and executive producer.

His other credits include Valentine’s Day (nominated for the 2008 AFI for Best Telefeature/Miniseries/Short Run Series) and Hell Has Harbour Views for Hilton Cordell Productions, ABC TV and Channel 4 (UK).
