Amateur Rights

All plays are protected by copyright. It’s necessary for the amateur rights of our playwrights’ works to be licensed under the standard terms and conditions of our Amateur Rights Licence which ensures playwrights are adequately compensated for their writing. When you’ve applied for the amateur rights we’ll check there’s no bar on the rights, either from an existing professional licence or from another amateur company or educational institution planning to produce the same work at a nearby theatre.
