Kris’ latest project is No Escape, a seven-part series produced by New Pictures for Paramount+ adapted from the novel The Blue by Lucy Clarke which began streaming in May 2023. Kris created, wrote and was the Executive Producer on the production. 

Kris created and wrote the true crime television drama series White House Farm for New Pictures, broadcast on ITV in the UK. Kris wrote 4 out of 6 episodes. New Pictures also produced, for BBC and Netflix in 2018, Kris’ original supernatural thriller series Requiem with Kris writing 4 of the 6 eps and being an Executive Producer.  

In his sixteen-year career as a writer and script editor Kris Mrksa has won numerous prizes and awards including two AFIs, three AWGIEs and the prestigious Foxtel Fellowship.

He has written for many prime-time TV series including The Secret Life Of Us, Packed to the Rafters, Rush and East West 101 and was a key part of the team that developed and wrote the hit series Underbelly 2: A Tale of Two Cities and Underbelly 3: The Golden Mile.  Kris was also the script editor on the SBS comedy series Wilfred, now successfully adapted for US television. 

In 2006 Kris co-wrote the critically acclaimed tele-movie The King, based on the life of Graham Kennedy, which won three AFI's and a Logie. 

Kris adapted and wrote for the television version of Christos Tsiolkas’ bestselling novel The Slap, which won numerous awards and was nominated for a BAFTA and an International Emmy. Kris wrote the acclaimed mini-series Devil’s Dust, based on the true story of Bernie Banton and the James Hardie asbestos tragedy.
