Josh Mapleston is a screenwriter, executive producer and script editor.

Josh is the co-creator, script producer and head writer on the Netflix young adult series Surviving Summer. On its release, season one reached the Top 10 in dozens of countries around the world. He is the Co-EP and head writer on season two which made the Netflix worldwide top 10. The series is produced by Werner Films for ZDF and Netflix. He is also working on multiple other projects and developing his own sci-fi, comedy and drama series.

Josh created, wrote and starred in in ABC’s music comedy I Rock and wrote and script-edited for Matchbox/NBCU’s comedy series Maximum Choppage. He has written for several popular one-hour dramas, including Nine Network’s Doctor Doctor, House Husbands and Seachange, Network Ten's The Wrong Girl, and the ABC’s Tomorrow, When the War Began.

He also has extensive writing credits across children’s television, winning an Emmy for his work on the Netflix series Motown Magic, writing and script-editing for Series 2 & 3 of the internationally successful Dance Academy, and writing for ABC’s Logie and International Emmy nominated series Ready for This, and the Netflix animated series Beat Bugs.
