Abe Forsythe

Wolf Like Me, a 6 x ½ hour comedy drama series Abe wrote and directed, was produced in 2021 by Made Up Stories for Peacock and Stan. Most recently, Wolf Like Me S2, a 7 x ½ hour comedy drama series was released in October 2023 and is now available to stream on Peacock and Stan. The first series was nominated for an AACTA Award for Best Drama Series. Abe’s second feature Little Monsters, which he wrote and directed was released in 2019 by Neon and Hulu after premiering at Sundance. The film was produced by Bruna Papandrea, Jodi Matterson, and Steve Hutensky from Made Up Stories and has sold across the world. His first feature film Down Under, which he also wrote and directed and was produced by Jodi Matterson, won the 2017 Betty Roland Prize for Scriptwriting at the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards and was nominated for Best Original Screenplay in the 2016 AACTAs after its theatrical release in August 2016. 

Abe was Executive Producer on the ABC series Soul Mates by The Bondi Hipsters. In 2011 he was the Series Director for the ABC comedy Laid (II), having acted in the first series. Abe has written and directed a number of award-winning short films some of which he also edited and produced. They include Shock (Tropfest and Best Comedy St Kilda Film Festival winners), Tomorrow (GPS) (Mofilm Barcelona Festival winner), Being Carl Williams (Tropfest 2nd place and Best Comedy).  In 2012 he directed episodes of Fremantle’s Mr & Mrs Murder.

He is best known as an actor for his performances in Howzat, Laid, Tripping Over, Marking Time, Fireflies and Always Greener. Abe continues to be represented by United Management as an actor.

He is repped by CAA, Grandview and Cameron’s Management in Australia.
