Tim Ayliffe


Tim Ayliffe has been a journalist for almost 20 years and is currently the Managing Editor of Television and Video for ABC News - a position that oversees ABC News Channel (formerly ABC News 24) and ABC News at 7pm nationally.

Tim has also worked as the TV News Editor for ABC News and the Executive Producer of ABC News Breakfast.

Before joining the ABC in 2006, Tim worked in London for Sky News as a digital and television journalist from 2002 – 2006.

He has tertiary degrees from Sydney University and the University of Technology, Sydney. He is also a recipient of the International Visitor Leadership Program – the U.S. State Department’s premier professional exchange scholarship.

Tim lives in Sydney with his wife, Justine Dougherty, and their two children, Penelope and Arthur.

The Greater Good (2018) is the first book in a crime/thriller trilogy, The John Bailey Series published by Simon and Schuster. State of Fear and Nowhere Man are due to publish in 2019 and 2020.
