Simon Dobbin’s extensive skills and experience have seen him work across multiple genres, from romantic comedy to horror through to drama. Based in the US for many years, he designed several of the highest grossing African American films of the 90’s. He collaborated with Warner Bros & Oscar winning director Steven Soderbergh on locations in Asia for Contagion (2011), and has worked with numerous directors in Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe and the United States. Simon has worked with most US studios and is highly regarded for his expansive knowledge of post techniques, visual/special effects and also camera, lighting and image manipulation. Simon enjoys bringing his knowledge of architecture and design to both large scale productions and smaller independent pictures. Simon is a full member of the US Art Directors Guild.
Simon recently completed the new Jackie Chan film Bleeding Steel (dir. Lijia Zhang, 2017).
