Rob Marsh is an Emmy award-winning cinematographer whose career has spanned over 30 years, working on many world-class television dramas, feature films, and commercials.
Most recently, Rob shot Season 3 of the hit crime series Black Snow (All3 Media) for STAN, currently in post-production. Prior to this, Rob shot three episodes of the romantic drama series Every Year After (Amazon MGM Studios, 2026) based on the book Every Summer After by Carley Fortune, and shot the second season of the multi-award-winning Amazon Studios TV show Deadloch (2026).
Rob shot the TV series The Last Anniversary (2025), which was based on Liane Moriarty’s best-selling novel. This six-part TV series was produced by Made Up Stories and Fifth Season and is available on BINGE. For his work on the series, Rob won a Silver Award for Cinematography in a Drama & Drama Series at the NZCS Awards. This was his second collaboration with Made Up Stories and Fifth Season, which started with the highly successful TV series Strife (2023), where Rob shot all eight episodes.
Rob was DOP on all three seasons of the Emmy award-winning series Sweet Tooth (Netflix, Nightshade, 2021-2024), for which he won Gold for Cinematography at both the NZCS Awards in 2024 and the QLD/NT ACS Awards in 2025, as well as an Emmy for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single Camera Live Action Program. Rob worked on Season One of The Wilds (2020), and he was the lead DOP on Season Two of The Wilds (2022), which was shot in Queensland for Amazon.
Rob’s 2nd Unit DOP credits include a number of productions like Spartacus, The Warrior Way, Aliens in the Attic, The Strength of Water, and The Shannara Chronicles. He’s also worked on many award-winning feature films like Avatar, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Hobbit, and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Rob also shot two New Zealand feature films – The Devil’s Rock (2011) and Low Down Dirty Criminals (2020).
Rob is accredited by the New Zealand Cinematography Society.
