Pip Karmel’s career spans the disciplines of film editing, writing and directing. She was nominated for both an Academy Award and BAFTA for her work as film editor on Shine, directed by Scott Hicks and starring Geoffrey Rush, for which she won an AFI Award.
She went on to write and direct Me Myself I starring Rachel Griffiths. The film screened at Toronto and Telluride Film Festivals, and was nominated for multiple AFI and Film Critics Circle Awards, including Best Original Screenplay and Best Direction.
Pip is the writer of Choir of Hard Knocks which is being developed by Macgowan Films. She is developing original screenplay, Dog Training for Beginners as well as a script for Fear of God Films.
Pip is currently developing for a new television series, adapted from a novel, for Matchbox Pictures, writing an episode for Blackfella Films new ABC drama Black B*tch and has separately created a new television drama.
