A former resident of Sydney, Paulette Gittins’s first novel, The Secret World of Annette Robinson, was first published by HarperCollins in 2004. This work won the NSW State Library Dobbie Award in 2005 for a First Novel by a Woman Writer. She has also written a large body of short stories and poetry, a wide selection of which have won prizes and awards in local, state and national competitions. Further publications have appeared in Knitting and The Trouble with Flying, the Margaret River Short Story Anthologies for 2013 and 2014, and Seeking the Sun, a Central Coast Poets anthology. A semi-retired teacher, Paulette’s non-fiction work includes a number of online study guides and units of literature study for distance education.
