Matthew Moore is a skilled director and screenwriter, working successfully and consistently on both local and international projects.

Last year in Scotland Matthew directed two episodes of the Outlander prequel, Blood of my Blood (Left Bank Pictures / Sony Pictures Television / Tall Ship Productions, 2025), which is available to view in Australia on Stan. In 2022, Matthew directed episodes for the second season of Tony McNamara's Emmy nominated comedy series The Great for Hulu and MRC Entertainment, starring Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, earning him a 2022 ADG Award nomination for Best Direction in a TV or SVOD Comedy Series Episode. He also was a part of the writer’s room.

Other streaming and network directing credits include Diary of an Uber Driver, a 6-part half hour comedy for ABC, of which Matthew was the sole director for the first season; episodes 5-8 of Colin from Accounts (Easy Tiger / Binge, 2022) first season; the critically acclaimed Bump (Roadshow Rough Diamond / Stan, 2021), and the hugely successful Offspring (2017) for Channel 10.

Matthew made his debut as a writer & director with the short films Julian and The Amber Amulet which won back-to-back Crystal Bears for Best Short film at the 62nd and 63rd Berlin International Film Festival. Other awards for his short films include the AACTA Award for Best Short Film, the AWGIE Award for Best Short Screenplay, the Audience Award at TIFF Kids, selection as one of seven short films to screen at Les Cesar Academie Des Arts Et Techniques Du Cinema’s Golden Night of the World’s Best Short Films of the Year in Paris and the Oscar Qualifying Grand Prix from The Heartland Film Festival.

Matthew has recently wrapped filming on a new BBC series, Two Weeks in August, which shot in Malta. It is produced by Various Artists and stars Jessica Raine, Nicholas Pinnock and Hugh Skinner.
