Marty Murphy is a Filmmaker, Writer and Comedian.
Originally trained as an Actor, in 1997 Marty graduated from the AFTRS Directing course with a ten minute thriller, Nightride. This led to work as an action sequence director for large budget television series, first as Second Unit Director on Water Rats (1998) and then for US TV series Beastmaster (1999). The scale and speed of these productions was to prove invaluable when later directing the low budget feature Lost Things. Lost Things has screened internationally at several film festivals and was released theatrically in Australia in 2004.
Over the last few years, Marty has built up a considerable following in the Sydney Fringe scene with his one man shows The Parallel Universe, Happy and Clean, Mr Stripey Suit and Speedy Mustard. He is currently developing End of Anxiety, a comedy series for television and an animated series based on his live show.
