Kim Wilson

Screenwriter / Script Producer / Script Editor

Kim Wilson is an accomplished screenwriter, script producer and script editor with over 20 years’ experience in the film and television industry.

Most recently, Kim has acted as script producer on the upcoming second season of the beloved Prime series Deadloch (Guesswork Productions/Amazon, 2023-). This marked her return to the writer’s room after penning episode two of the show’s first season. Prior to this, Kim saw the release of her original series While the Men Are Away (Arcadia/Red Arrow Studios/SBS, 2023). She was credited as co-creator, script producer and wrote four out of eight episodes. Some of her other recent television credits include two episodes for Lost Flowers of Alice Hart (Made Up Stories/Amazon, 2023), two episodes of The Messenger (Lingo/ABC, 2023) and an episode of the award winning first season of Total Control (Blackfella Films/ABC, 2019).

Kim was story editor on the internationally acclaimed Wentworth (Fremantle Australia /Foxtel) since season four, as well as writing five episodes for the final two seasons. From 2016 to 2019, Kim was the Senior Script Executive for Foxtel, working closely with Head of Drama Penny Win in developing their drama slate. Alongside Wentworth, her award-winning projects include Picnic At Hanging Rock, Lambs of God, Fighting Season, The End and Upright. She has also worked in-house on some of Australia’s most commercially successful and popular shows, including as Associate Producer on A Place to Call Home (Seven Productions, 2014), script editor for three seasons of Packed to the Rafters (Seven Network/Spectrum Films) as well as script producing its final season, and scripting editing All Saints (Seven Network).

Kim lives on beautiful Dharug Country, on an island in the Hawkesbury River, with her partner of 20 years. When Kim’s not writing, she is probably playing bass guitar, learning Spanish or mucking about in boats. Currently, Kim is working on a variety of projects with esteemed local production companies including Curio Pictures, Fremantle Australia, Guesswork TV and Matchbox Pictures.
