John Scott ASE


John is one of Australia’s most experienced and awarded editors. Recent credits include: Tommy’s Honor (dir. Jason Connery, 2017), Septembers of Shiraz (dir. Wayne Blair, 2015) and Now Add Honey (dir. Wayne Hope, 2013).

Working across the UK, US and Australia, he has won three AFI Awards, for Little Fish (dir. Rowan Woods, 2004), The Navigator (dir. Vincent Ward, 1988) and the Australian classic Newsfront (dir. Phillip Noyce, 1978) which received six AFI Nominations. He also won (shared with Veronika Jenet) an IF Award for Rabbit Proof Fence (dir. Phillip Noyce, 2001). His extensive list of credits include The Quiet American (dir. Phillip Noyce, 2002), Sexy Beast (co-editor, 2000), The Adventures of Barry McKenzie (dir. Bruce Beresford, 1972), Map of the Human Heart (dir. Vincent Ward, 1992), The Coca-Cola Kid (dir. Dusan Makavejev, 1985), Heatwave (dir. Phillip Noyce, 1982), Wrong Side of the Road (dir. Ned Lander, 1981) Being in Heaven (dir. Michael Domeyko Rowland, 2009), Travellers and Magicians (dir. Khyentse Norbu, 2003), Return to Sender (dir. Bille August, 2004) and The Cup (dir Khyentse Norbu, 1999).

He most recently cut the family film, Buckely’s Chance (dir. Tim, Brown/ Buff Dubs Productions), starring Bill Nighy and expected for release in 2020.
