After many years as a leading actor, Jennifer Hagan began directing for the theatre when she joined NIDA as the Acting Tutor in 1991, where she directed many plays from Shakespeare to Sheridan, Chekhov and Gorky.
Jennifer most recently directed Blonde Poison by Gail Louw, starring Belinda Giblin, which was performed at the Old Fitzroy Theatre, Darlinghurst and then returned to the Sydney Opera House and the Arts Centre Melbourne.
Since 1995 Jennifer has directed for professional theatres in Sydney and Melbourne. These include Marion Street (Daylight Saving, Separation), the Sydney Theatre Company (Collected Stories, and Salt), Hit Productions (The Last of the Red Hot Lovers, President Wilson in Paris, Educating Rita and Shirley Valentine), for the Melbourne Theatre Company (The Blonde, the Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead, which toured nationally), Q Theatre and CDP Productions (The Shoe-Horn Sonata) and for the Stables (Love Child). Jennifer’s stage and screen credits are extensive.
