We are thrilled to congratulate Debra Oswald, whose latest novel, One Hundred Years of Betty, has been shortlisted for the 2026 Indie Book Awards in the Fiction category!
One Hundred Years of Betty tells the story of Betty who, on the eve of her hundredth birthday, recounts a life spanning decades of history, social upheaval, and personal reinvention. From her early years in pre-war London to post-war Australia, Betty’s journey takes her through the anti-war and feminist movements of the 1970s, the AIDS crisis of the 1980s, and a career as a TV screenwriter; always pushing against the limits imposed on her by time and circumstance.
The novel is available in bookstores and online now.
