‘Head South’ to Hit Australian Independent Cinema’s from April 3rd

Jonathan Ogilvie’s coming-of-age post-punk comedy Head South will be screening at local independent cinemas from April 3rd.

The feature has played to sold out houses at the Rotterdam Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival and Sydney Film Festival. In 2024 the British Film Institute named it one of the great New Zealand films.

Head South follows a private schoolboy drawn to the underground post-punk music scene, who must confront self-doubt, the derision of his friends, and a family tragedy to develop an appreciation for true character.

The film is edited by Julie-Anne De Ruvo and stars Ed Oxenbould, Marton Tsokas and Benee.
