Ed Oxenbould Joins the Agency as a Writer/Director!

Ed Oxenbould is one of Australia’s most loved young actors, who is excited to now be entering the writing and directing side of the industry.

Ed is recognisable for his work in Puberty Blues, Paper Planes, Wildlife, Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day and The Visit. Most recently in 2024, he returned from Rotterdam where Head South (dir. Jonathan Ogilvie), a film he leads, opened the festival. He was also seen in 2024 in the Stan original, Nugget is Dead (dir. Imogen McCluskey). Among two AACTA Award nominations, Ed was also nominated for a Critic’s Choice Award for Best Young Actor for his leading role in Paul Dano’s directorial debut Wildlife, starring opposite Carey Mulligan and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Ed is currently developing multiple original projects, including two horror features which have already received interest from local production companies. His short films include Doorman (2025), a low-budget surrealist horror, and Don’t Drink the Punchline! (2024). The former serves as a proof of concept for the style and tone he aims to incorporate in his work, and both films are in the process bring entered in both local and international festivals.
