Congratulations to S.Shakthidharan and Eamon Flack on Winning the 2024 VIC Premier’s Literary Award for Drama

Congratulations to Cameron’s clients S. Shakthidharan and Eamon Flack on winning the 2024 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Drama for their play The Jungle and the Sea, which premiered at Belvoir St Theatre in November 2022. Shakthi and Eamon co-wrote and directed the play, which was met with rave reviews and had a profound impact on the Sri Lankan community.

The Jungle and the Sea follows a mother, in a time of war. Members of her family go missing, one after the other – but she never loses hope. A rich, sweeping new play that combines two great pillars of literature Mahābhāratha and Antigone – with the untold histories of the Sri Lankan civil war to forge a new story about surviving loss, discovering love and building a path to justice.
