Congratulations to Cameron’s clients Tommy Murphy and Debra Oswald on their recent theatre revivals of Strangers In Between and Is There Something Wrong With That Lady?

Tommy Murphy’s Strangers In Between, which premiered in the UK in 2016, has returned to London at the Golden Goose Theatre for a limited season. Directed by Adam Spreadbury-Maher, Strangers In Between first debuted at Sydney’s Griffin Theatre Company in 2005 to critical acclaim. The cast includes Stephen Connery-Brown, Alex Ansdell and making his UK acting debut Australian diving star Matthew Mitcham. Strangers In Between explores brotherhood. Shane flees his family in regional Goulburn and finds himself in Sydney’s Kings Cross. He attempts to build a surrogate family in the city. He confuses the two families. The city lover he worships is doubled and morphed with the brother he fears. Peter, an older man who is dealing with the imminent death of his elderly mother, is himself rendered maternal by the needs of runaway Shane.

Debra Oswald’s one-women show Is There Something Wrong With That Lady? enjoyed a sell-out debut at Griffin Theatre Company in 2021 and has now returned to the Ensemble Theatre. Oswald and director Lee Lewis have reunited for this infectiously funny, deeply personal and honest exploration of the ups, downs and in-betweens of being a writer. Debra Oswald fell in love with theatre aged eleven. But did it love her back? How do you cope with rejection and success and then more rejection? How does a child hypochondriac, with a blundering romantic history learn to cope with the demands of writing showbiz? Will the success of OFFSPRING change things or is the writer’s lot one huge stumble from disaster to disaster? Debra needs to move on…can the audience help her to decide what to do next?

Strangers In Between is running at the Golden Goose Theatre in London till 7 October 2023. Is There Something Wrong With That Lady? is running at the Ensemble Theatre till 14 October 2023.
