Cameron's Welcomes Screenwriter David Hannam

We are delighted to announce that David Hannam has joined the agency.

David is an experienced and awarded screenwriter and executive producer.

David is currently writing and script consulting on Helium’s Paper Dolls for Paramount Plus. Earlier in 2022, he was a writer and executive producer on AMC+/Acorn’s first Australian original commission Darby and Joan, starring Bryan Brown and Greta Scacchi (released in August 2022).

Best known for penning ABC’s hugely popular biopic Carlotta, and developing the internationally successful Prisoner reboot Wentworth, David’s work on Matchbox/NBCU’s hit teen sci-fi Nowhere Boys garnered numerous awards, including a BAFTA and an International Emmy.

In addition to development and production executive roles, David’s writing and script producing credits include Wanted and Secret Bridesmaids’ Business, currently being adapted by NBC in the US, medical-procedural The Doctor Blake Mysteries, period drama A Place to Call Home, and critically acclaimed teen series such as Paramount+’s More Than This and the internationally successful Dance Academy.

David has original projects in development in Australia with Werner Film Productions, Beyond and ACTF, and with Synchronicity and Headline in the UK.

A former television journalist and long-time news junkie, David works across all genres but has a particular interest in contemporary stories drawn from real life, in additional to edge-of-your-seat thriller hybrids, of which he has several in active development.

Having recently completed a reverse seachange, David is reacclimatising to life in inner Melbourne.
