Storyland on Miles Franklin Literary Award 2018 Longlist

The Cameron Creswell Agency congratulates our client Catherine McKinnon on the longlisting of her novel STORYLAND in the Miles Franklin Literary Award 2018. Catherine’s book is one of eleven novels in contention for the prize.

‘The longlist for the Miles Franklin Literary Award 2018 spans many genres of the novel: historical, fantastical, realist, satirical, allegorical and autobiographical,’ said State Librarian of NSW Mitchell librarian Richard Neville, speaking on behalf of the judging panel. ‘The books take us back in time to consider the effects of the past, or address the issues of contemporary life, or give glimpses of an uncertain, even frightening future.’

Catherine’s powerful and evocative novel spans several hundred years and is set in the Illawarra region. The shortlist for the prize will be announced on 17 June and the winner will be announced in August.
