Tristan Bancks wins twice over with YABBA and KOALA Awards for THE FALL

Congratulations to Tristan Bancks who today was announced as the winner of the 2018 KOALA in the years 7-9 reader section for his book THE FALL.

The announcement comes a week after Tristan received the 2018 YABBA in the years 7-9 reader category, also for THE FALL.

Both the Kids Own Australian Literature Awards, NSW and the The Young Australians Best Book Awards, VIC are voted by children and teen readers and are a true reflection of the stories that are resonating with young audiences.

Of the awards Tristan said “I am so pleased and it fills me with such joy to know that this story that I believed in and sweated over and doubted and fretted over has connected with kids in this way. The other books in [these categories] are from such extraordinary writers, I feel very lucky to be considered amongst them.”

THE FALL was previously shortlisted for the Adelaide Festival Award - Children’s Literature, 2018, and shortlisted for the Children's Book Council, Book of The Year Award for Older Readers 2018.
