Harriet Cunningham – aka @harryfiddler – is a freelance writer based in Sydney. In print she is best known as one of the Sydney Morning Herald’s classical music critics.
Brought up in the UK, Harriet studied at Edinburgh University and worked in arts management before moving across the world to Sydney. Over the last 25 years she has worked and played her way into the heart of musical life in Sydney, working with many of Australia’s leading performing arts organisations.
Alongside journalism and corporate writing, Harriet is working on a novel, a murder mystery set at a piano competition. She’s also writing a memoir and cultural history of Dartington Summer School as part of doctoral studies at UTS, and working with UK publisher Unbound to create a picture book version in time for Dartington’s 70th anniversary in 2018.
