Genevieve Gannon is a Sydney-based journalist and author who writes news stories, features and novels.   

She is presently the staff feature writer at The Australian Women’s Weekly.

She started her news career at a local paper in Canberra in the middle of the 2007 election campaign before returning to her home town of Melbourne where she worked at a series of local Fairfax magazines while moonlighting at The Age. During that time she was also a contributing editor to Hardie Grant’s Eating and Drinking Guide to Melbourne.

Before she joined The Weekly, Genevieve was the chief court reporter for Australian Associated Press in Melbourne where she reported on terror raids, murder, infanticide and the prosecution of some of the nation’s most notorious child sex abusers. Her journalism has appeared in most of Australia’s major news publications.

Her first novel Husband Hunters was published in 2014. She followed this with Chasing Chris Campbell in 2015 and The First Year in 2017. Breach will be published by Allen and Unwin in 2019.
