CJ Johnson is a multi-award winning writer and director for film and theatre.  CJ has recently been inducted into the Australian Writer’s Guild Pathways program after being shortlisted for the AWG’s 2018 Laugh Out Loud Comedy Writing Competition for his original comedy pilot Punt Dad. His short film The Bris screened at Cannes Film Festival in 2010. His short film The Game was shortlisted as Best Film in 2006 at three separate international film festivals as well as being selected for screening at over fifteen others. The same year Saturday Night Newtown Sunday Morning Enmore won the Best Short Film prize at fourteen independent film festivals worldwide. His theatre work includes Borys The Rottweiler (Tamarama Rock Surfers’ Production Prize 2000, Winner of Metro Scriptwriting Prize Sydney Fringe Festival 2000), The Dog Logs (nominated for a Green Room Award for Best Actor), Backpacker! (Shortlisted for Phillip Parsons Young Playwright of the Year Award, 2004) and The Young Tycoons (Darlinghurst Theatre Company). His latest play Hollywood Ending (Winner of the Rapid Write Project) was produced at Griffin Theatre in late 2012.
