Writer \ Director
Chris Squadrito is an award-winning writer, director and script editor based in Sydney. He is currently writing a feature film for Stranger than Fiction, as well as episodes for a number of shows in development, including a crime thriller based on a bestselling book series for CJZ and the ABC, along with the upcoming spinoff to the hit series Wentworth, for Fremantle Media Australia and Foxtel.
Chris is currently developing his own original series with Muse Entertainment, Bare, which follows a 30-year-old personal trainer, who after outing himself as bisexual, is determined to keep his marriage afloat and his masculinity intact - but soon finds his newfound evolution shifting the very nature of his relationship, his family, and his group of all-too Australian mates. The series has received Screen Australia development funding.
In 2025, Chris completed a director’s attachment on the second season of the hit series The Artful Dodger (Curio, Disney+). Prior to this in 2023, Chris’ dark comedy web series Vanlife (Emotional), which he wrote, directed and produced, enjoyed a successful festival run, in which it was nominated for and won over a dozen awards at events including C21, Marseille Webfest, Toronto International Webfest, Stareable NYC, and SPAA. He is currently developing the project further as a long-form series with Odeon Pictures in Germany.
Chris is an experienced script editor, previously working on the 2022 miniseries, Significant Others, for Fremantle and the ABC, Goalpost’s 2018 Foxtel miniseries Fighting Season, and Netflix’s first Australian Original series Tidelands (2018), from Steve Irwin and Hoodlum Entertainment, which he also wrote an episode on.
Chris holds a Masters in Screenwriting from AFTRS and a First Class Honours in Psychology.
