Blake Ayshford is a multi-award-winning screenwriter.

Blake recently worked on the drama series House of Gods, produced by Matchbox Pictures for the ABC. He was a writer on the series, the Script Producer and an Executive Producer. He is currently writing a pilot episode for a new series for FremantleMedia Australia and Archipelago Films.

Between 2021-2022 Blake was the Script Producer and an Executive Producer of Mystery Road: Origin, as well as writing and co-writing a couple of episodes. Episode 6, Co-Written by Blake, was nominated for an AACTA Award for Best Screenplay in Television. His Ep.1 for the series has been nominated for the 2023 NSW Premier’s Award.  The series won the 2022 AACTA Award for Best Drama Series. He had previously worked on Mystery Road Series 2 as Script Producer and as a writer. Over the last year Blake has written episodes for the TV series Love Me (Warner Bros/Binge), Troppo (EQ Media Group/ABC) and Significant Others (FremantleMedia Australia/ABC). In 2021 Blake was the Script Producer and an Executive Producer of the anthology feature film Here Out West which was nominated for an AACTA Award for Best Film. In 2018 Blake created the new drama Fighting Season for Foxtel, serving as the Showrunner/ Producer of the series and writing multiple episodes. The series was nominated for an AACTA Award for Best Telefeature or MiniSeries.

Blake wrote an episode of the BBC/ Netflix drama Requiem for New Pictures and two episodes of the Matchbox Pictures/ABC miniseries, Barracuda, which he also script produced with Belinda Chayko. Barracuda won the 2016 AWGIE for Best Television Miniseries Adaptation.

His many television credits include the following: script producing and writing two episodes of Tomorrow, When the War Began for Ambience Entertainment;  writing the telemovie An Accidental Soldier, nominated for an AWGIE, the 2013 Queensland Literary Award for Drama and the 2014 NSW Premier's Literary Awards; showrunning/producing and writing The Devil’s Playground , winning the 2015 AACTA Award for Best Telefeature or Miniseries and being nominated for the 2014 AWGIE; Love My Way and The Alice for Southern Star; Crownies for Screentime; The Cooks for Chapman Pictures, (Winner 2003 QLD Premier’s Award for Scriptwriting); McLeod's Daughters for Millenium Pictures and My Place and The Straits for Matchbox Pictures. The Straits scripts won the 2012 AWGIE Television Miniseries - Original and one of Blake's script was individually shortlisted for the 2012 Queensland Literary Awards for Best Television Script.

Blake’s feature film Cut Snake, directed by Tony Ayres, premiered at the 2014 Melbourne International Film Festival and screened at the Toronto and Edinburgh International Film Festivals. Blake was nominated for Best Original Film Screenplay AWGIE, and at the Film Critics Circle of Australia Awards.
