JO BRISCOE

Jo Briscoe holds an MFA in Theatre Design from Penn State University. This year Jo has designed the set and costumes for the MTC's production Madagascar. Other set and costume designs for theatre include Ruby Moon (STC), October (Griffin), Stories in the Dark (ATYP), Mr Bailey's Minder (Griffin/Riverina), Nailed (Griffin), A Moment on the Lips (Old Fitzroy/Trades Hall Melbourne/Stables) and the Haydn opera La Vera Costanza (Sydney Conservatorium). Jo designed sets only for Strange Attractor (Griffin Theatre), Flotsam and Jetsam (Jigsaw) and Myth, Propaganda and Disaster... (Stables) and has designed costumes for Company B's The Pillowman, Jay's Place at Sydney Theatre, STC's double bill Reunion and A Kind of Alaska, directed by Andrew Upton and Cate Blanchett in addition to Wilde Tales (B Sharp), On the Case (Legs on the Wall), King Lear (Studio/Riverside), The Suitors (TRS), and What the Umbrella Did Next (ATYP). She was production designer on the short film Hush for SBS TV and art directed the clips for the Rogue Traders What You're On and Delta Goodrem's You Will Only Break My Heart.

NICHOLAS DARE

Nicholas graduated with a BA in Design at NIDA in 2001 and he has since designed set and costume for a range of theatre productions in the commercial, subsidised and independent sectors. His credits include: Set designs for The Pillowman (Company B), sets and costumes for MTC's Lovesong, sets for Ensemble Production Mary Stuart, the award-winning Honour Bound, directed by Nigel Jameson for Sydney Opera House; set and costumes for the run-away hit Hedwig and the Angry Inch for Showtune Productions, starring Iota; designing set and costumes for Griffin Theatre Company's Louis Nowra trilogy, The Emperor of Sydney, The Marvellous Boy and The Woman With Dog's Eyes; For Ensemble Theatre Halpern and Johnson, Trying, They're Playing Our Song and Losing Louis; and production design for Edmond and Dealer's Choice, both produced by Albedo Theatre, the company Nicholas has with director Craig Illot. He has been working as associate designer on Priscilla, the Musical and will be working on the West End premiere of the production. Nicholas was also a set designer on Miramax Films Don't Be Afraid of the Dark directed by Troy Nixey and starring Katie Holmes and Guy Pearce. Most recently Nicholas designed the acclaimed production of Smoke and Mirrors for the 2010 Sydney Festival.

XANTHE HEUBEL

Xanthe graduated from NIDA with a BA in Design after studying Environment and Jewellery Design at the College of Fine Art. She recently designed costumes for the feature film The Loved Ones and for the telefeature The Last Confession of Alexander Pearce. In film and TV she has worked in the wardrobe departments for The Square, Disgrace, Newcastle Two Twisted, The Silence, Footy Legends, 48 Shades of Brown and Blue Water High. She was Art Director of the 2004 Tropfest winning short film The Money and Art Director and Costume Designer of the Tropfest Ford promotional short Goodbye Tim. Her theatre credits include designing costumes for Lord of the Flies (Stablemates) 2006 and the B Sharp production of Love Play. Xanthe has costume designed 13 short films for Film Depot's production for SBS TV entitled Bit of Black Business.
Xanthe was costume designer on Rene Hernandez' award winning short film The Ground Beneath which screened in competition at the 2009 Aspen Shortsfest in Colorado and won the Mediatheques Prize at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival in France

LEON KRASENSTEIN

Leon is a 2003 WAAPA design graduate and his set and costume design experience within theatre, opera and ballet has included a nomination for a Helpmann Award in 2006 for his work on Chrissie Parrott's A Midsummer Night's Dream for the WA Ballet. Leon recently designed set and costumes for Firebird for The Australian Ballet. Other professional credits include: Opera Queensland's productions of Die Fledermaus (2005) and The Marriage of Figaro (2004); A Midsummer Nights Dream (costume design), and Dangerous Liaisons, The Red Shoes and Alice (set and costume design) for the West Australian Ballet; Opera Australia's The Barber of Seville (2005); Tears from a Glass Eye for Black Swan Theatre Company; costumes for NICA's circus production of Rhapsody (2008). WAAPA productions include: The Pyjama Game (costume design), Fiddler on the Roof (set and costume design) and Pacific Overtures (set and costume design). Leon's event and corporate designs include Alcoa's 2010 strategic plan, LIVE@WOODSIDE 2008 and 2009 and designed the uniforms for the Channel 7 crew for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Torino, Italy.

JULIE LYNCH

Julie has worked extensively as a Costume and Set Designer in Australian Theatre, having worked with respected directors such as Neil Armfield, Gale Edwards, Elke Neidhardt, Stuart Maunder, Marrion Potts and John Bell. In 2009, Julie won the Sydney Theatre Award for best costume design for Travesties, in 2008 she won the Helpmain Award for Best Costume Design for The Rocky Horror Show , having won the same award in 2003 for The Way of the World. Recent credits include; Little Women (Kookaburra), World Youth Day's Station of the Cross, Mary Stuart (Ensemble), Don Giovanni (Design Realisation OA), As You Like It (Design Realisation Bell Shakespeare) and Company (Kookaburra). Julie won the Sydney Theatre Award for the STC's Festen and in 2006 won the same award for the STC's The Bourgeois Gentleman.
Julie has designed costumes for Southern Star's T.V show Hi-5 and recently designed set and costumes for Bell Shakespeare's production of Pericles and costumes for The Sydney Theatre Company's production of God of Carnage.
